The Challenge

Epigeum was founded as a spin-out from Imperial College London with an ambitious vision: to improve professional education through high-quality online learning.
Rather than purchasing an off-the-shelf learning management system, Epigeum needed a bespoke platform capable of supporting its unique educational model while providing the flexibility to grow alongside the business.
The platform needed to support universities, professional institutions and commercial organisations through secure online course delivery, institutional access, assessments, multilingual content and future international expansion.
From the outset, the challenge was not simply to build a learning platform, but to create the technical foundation for a business designed to grow over many years.

Psycle partnered with the Epigeum team from the very beginning, designing and building the platform while establishing an engineering approach centred on continual improvement rather than one-off delivery.
As Epigeum evolved, so did the platform. New functionality, responsive interfaces, multilingual capability, institutional integrations and infrastructure improvements were introduced incrementally, allowing the technology to evolve without disrupting learners or educational institutions.
Working closely with the Epigeum team over almost two decades, we have continually adapted the platform to meet changing educational requirements, new technologies and international growth, ensuring it remains a robust foundation for the organisation today.

Psycle designed, built and continues to develop a bespoke online learning platform supporting SCORM-compliant course delivery, learner management, institutional access, assessments and multilingual publishing within a single secure environment.
Over the lifetime of the partnership, the platform has continually evolved through new functionality, responsive redesign, infrastructure modernisation and integration with technologies including OpenAthens, enabling universities and professional institutions to seamlessly deliver learning at scale.
Today the platform supports Epigeum's continued growth across international markets, providing a flexible technical foundation capable of evolving alongside changing educational and commercial requirements.
